INJURY PREVENTION COORDINATOR, TRAUMA SERVICE

Stefania began her career at Highland Hospital in 2002 as a medical social worker. Over the years she was stationed in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and as the Trauma social worker throughout all inpatient units. In 2008 she accepted the job as Trauma Prevention Coordinator and two years later became a member of the TEC committee; serving as the first prevention coordinator to join the group. Working bedside for her initial years prepared her her for work conducting community outreach and engagement, education and awareness and spearheading model programs for gun violence and senior falls. In 2018 Stefania added Stop The Bleed and PTSD Screens to her priority list, both relevant in any traumatic situation.
