TRAUMA NURSE PRACTITIONER

An Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, Scott earned his BSN from Samuel Merritt College of Nursing/Saint Mary’s College in 1986, completed the ACNP program at the University of California, San Francisco in 2010, and received his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University in 2021, with a DNP project focused on improving EMS-to-trauma team patient handoffs. Board certified as an ACNP by both the ANCC and AACN, he has practiced as an RN since 1985 across critical care, emergency, and transport/flight nursing and continues to work per diem as a flight nurse. He holds multiple specialty certifications (CCRN, CEN, CTRN, CFRN, TCRN), is a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) instructor, and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP Program at the UCSF School of Nursing. He is actively engaged in professional leadership through membership in numerous national organizations, including the Society of Trauma Nurses, Emergency Nurses Association (lifetime member), and Sigma Theta Tau.
